Ah, ChatGPT. It’s the elephant in any copywriter’s room.

Sure it’s a useful tool. It creates grammatically accurate copy in a matter seconds. Pretty nifty if you’re pressed for time and the blinking cursor fills you with all the fear.

But is AI better than a copywriter?

Not to discredit ChatGPT’s writing talents, but no, it’s not.

NGL it has a tendency to be cold, distant, and a little weird.

Using AI to write your brand copy could just leave you with vague, soulless copy that’s as exciting as, well, a hoover manual.

Don’t tell it I said that 👀

Will AI write copy that perfectly summarises your brand?

Will it speak consistently in your brand’s voice?

Will it really take the time to get to know your brand’s values?

Will it produce unique copy unlike anything you’ve read before?

Plot twist, it won’t.

Let’s be real, copywriters just like me are having a hard time at the moment.

‘I’ll just use ChatGPT instead’ is the stuff of our nightmares.

But will AI replace copywriters? Not likely.

The thing is, AI lacks something us humans have in abundance. ✨ Emotion ✨

It’s the secret ingredient of copywriting.

Copywriters love to get in the heads of the reader, they understand consumer psychology, buying habits, and purchase decisions.

With their words a copywriter will take you on a journey giving unique messages that connect with you on a human level.

A copywriter will:

⚡️Tap into desires to make the reader feel special

⚡️Answer questions before they’re asked

⚡️Validate identity so the reader feels the brand ‘gets’ them

People make emotional decisions first, followed by logic to form their choice.

⌚️People won’t buy the Rolex because it tells the time better, it makes them feel more powerful.

🍃 They wont buy eco-friendly products because of the materials, they want to feel like they’re changing the world.

When your brand speaks on a human level, it builds trust and loyalty, and ultimately sales will happen.

Human-written copy has the power to turn a first time buyer into repeat customers and even lifelong supporters too.
